Sweet Drinks With Passion
I arrived in Holborn, on my way to the Pearl bar, 252 High Holborn, for a drink with my husband. We met in the wrong bar, an easy mistake as they also served cocktails and it was in the Renaisance Hotel, but we went right when we should have gone left, my husband says I should wear a red sock on the right and a green one on the left, but they just wouldn't go with the Manolo's... We had a couple of cocktails in the CC bar, very nice, very civilised, very business before we realised, Whoops!

After looking at my socks we went over to the Pearl bar,(green), very different, more modern, very fabulous. I just had to check the Pearl strings to see if they were real!

We were there to try the new cocktails that Gustavo and Ben have developed. Red or green I'm glad we found Pearl. Apparently Ben, the pastry chef, and Gustavo, the drinks mixologist were drinking copious quantities of caipirinha one night. Home and Mums soon led to the crazy idea of english puds as cocktails. Their passion has turned a winning idea into five winning cocktails.

You just have to try them to believe it! Pastry wheels, fresh rasberry coulis, ice cubes of crushed strawberries, sun dried lemons, and a soda syphon all help to create these surprisingly good drinks.
