Gore Hotel, Kensington, London
So all in all our breakfast experience was not the best. I would say that when food
did arrive it was hot and tasty, I'm not sure whether it was worth the wait though!
The Gore Hotel is full of surprises, my husband described it as a
posh Fawlty Towers, something which only seemed to concern the doorman at the
hotel! I must say the doormen were very nice and helpful.
So to sum up. The Gore is a paradox. On one hand the setting is fabulous and
stylish and on another hand it's a comedy of errors. Unfortunately at the prices
we were charged I wasn't laughing.
If you plan to stay in a glorious Kensington townhouse, perhaps The Gore Hotel
is for you but if you like your toast toasted - make sure you eat your breakfast
out.
The Gore Hotel, 189 Queen's Gate, London SW7 5EX (020 7584 6601), has 52 rooms.
Anna paid a special spring rate of £189 (normally £269) for a Wonderful Double room.
